Update

Here's one of my little lists that helps sum up our week:

Try not to be distracted by how pretty my hand-writing is.

When the kids are sick I let them watch a lot more tv/movies than I normally would because there's not much else they can do to keep their minds off their misery (the stoicism gene seemed to have passed us up all together). Can I just say that I HATE having the tv on a lot, it sucks the life out of everyone and everything and is just plain depressing.

Ben crawled into my bed a few nights ago to tell me "my nose are bugging me!". He also keeps changing his status from "I'm feeling better!" to "I not feeling very well again, Mom" depending on which is most useful for him at the moment. One time I asked him how his throat was feeling and he told me it hurt because it was in his tummy. He also told Anna if she didn't move away from him he would throw up on her, (even though none of them has thrown up - thankfully!). We love Ben.

Nate got pink eye right after Ben did and was super worried about the eye drops involved. When I took him to the doctor our good doc. told Nate he had a irritation-free method and instructed me to put the drop in the inside corner of his closed eye then open it and let it run in. Nate was so excited to get his drops each time and has told me about 353 times that we have the nicest doctor in the entire world. That saved so much grief, what a blessing. Plus we were able to use our new method with Anna and Abby when they got it the next day. We love Nate.

Abigail has had the worst of it and is kind of a worrier, so she's been in tears several times asking me if she was going to die. It was really sad. She was tested for the flu which was negative, but she's still convinced she has the Swine Flu. When we can keep her fever down she perks right up though and is as entertaining as always telling us that a couple of boys in her class want to be "stunk devils". I think she meant stunt doubles/dare devils?? We love Abby.

When Anna gets bored she likes to tease and she's had 3 perfectly vulnerable victims at her disposal so, I think she's actually kind of enjoyed herself this week :) She's also truly been extremely helpful and cheerful for the most part. Today I left her in charge so I could run get more medicine and evidently the boys went into full battle mode. When I got home she had them both in time-out and had managed to talk both of them down. I was so grateful and impressed she handled it all so well in spite of not feeling well at all.

Brennan has been a true hero, he's the latest victim of this sickness but has still managed to work hard at work and then come home to 5 grumpy people and pick up the slack while his healthy but good-for-nothing wife lays around with her eyes glazed over. We love Brennan.

The boys seem to be back to their healthy selves and I think the girls are well on their way to a full recovery - woo hoo!!! I've been so grateful all of this happened while baby is still inside me, I would have been so stressed out to have a newborn exposed to all of this. So many tender mercies. Yay for the end of this week and a holiday weekend and a whole new week ahead.

Thank heaven for the womb. Having four sick children is very stressful especially when there if fever involved. So happy to hear it was not Swine Flu. Neither was Matthew's or RSV. Actually I think the actual flu is worse, so the CDC says.

Hang in there, lady. So glad you are feeling OK, besides being exhausted.

sounds like it's been a horrible week! pink eye is the worst. i absolutely HATE having sick kids. it makes me never want to take them to nursery, the park, or play dates ever again (which i curse every time they get sick). i'm glad to know you're getting better.

Yikes! Sounds like a fun week. Glad you are all getting over it. I was thinking about you today... are you still planning on coming down? I had it in my mind that it would be sometime this month. Hope I didn't miss you, but if so, I guess I can understand. I know how hard it is to pack everything in. If I haven't missed you... you had better let me know when because if you breeze through without me seeing you, I'll never forgive you!!!!

Hope everyone feels better soon!

Whoa, new inverted age order! Fancy.

Those are hilarious kids.

Sad, but so funny about crying over the swine flu killing them.

Also Stunk Devil is so funny for some reason. Abby is just so so funny.

First of all I am impressed with your organized list. Good for you. I am sorry that you had all of your kids sick. What a challenge, especially being pregnant.

I love that despite having that awful week, your great sense of humor is still intact. Funny, cute kids. I'm so glad they're better!

oh man Ange! That is rough!! I'm so sorry.
I thought of you when my friend told me that her 4 year old keeps washing his hands over and over and then showing her his hands, asking if he has any "pig fluid" on them.
All these poor children so worried about it.

You've gone through a lot of medicine!!!
