Update

So we finished Where The Red Fern Grows last night. It was heart-breakingly sad, but the girls actually did okay. I was the one who was totally losing it and could barely read. Anna got really teary and sad too, and Abby didn't even cry. Such a great sweet book and totally worth the trauma in the end.

Lately, Nate has become VERY curious. He asks questions non-stop. I remember this phase with my other kids, but Nate's is unique from theirs in that whenever I answer his constant queries he says, "How do you know?" So then I find myself defending and supporting my answers.

Nate: Mom, who sings this song?
Me: The Beach Boys.
Nate: How do you know?
Me: I recognize their voices.
Nate: How?
Me: I just do.
Nate: How?
Me: Do you want some candy?"

This seriously goes on and on and on. It's kind of a humbling process to be put through though, it makes me realize how little support I actually have for what I think I know.

Ben's favorite words lately are "NO, NO, NO" and "MINE, MINE, MINE". I know I'll pay for it, but right now I LOVE it, it cracks me up and I love to just out of the blue say, "Mine." and watch Benny grin and immediately say, "NO, MINE, MINE!" He's the boss of the world. He also happens to be the most unbelievably cute dictator ever.
