Staples

So I was just thinking about what our snack staples are (I know, you've been hoping I would write about this). The five things we MUST have or we have NOTHING to eat at our house:

1. Granola bars
2. Fruit snacks/roll-ups (if we are out of these two things they feel certain that Ethopian orphanages have it better than they do and I only let them have 1 of each per day.)
3. Peanut-butter (Anna and Nate get a spoon and dig in.)
4. Popsicles (It's really quite chilly outside right now, but they are all outside eating a popsicle, not seasonal to them.)
5. crackers

What are your snack staples besides all the fruits and vegetables that we all eat all the time?

some sort of crackers in the cupboard
Diet Coke (just for me of course)
usually one or two flavors of ice cream (you know, just for Davis)
carrots and dip
And during this season, always Eggnog and hot chocolate!

My kids are LIVING off Hot Cider and Hot Chocolate right now. Seth puts a scoop of Postam in his (gross) Noah disobeyed me and had two hot ciders in a row so he couldn't have one allllll day loooooong today. The last thing he said tonight was "I can't wait to have hot cider for breakfast again" It's definitely their stapple right now no matter the long hours I spent making sweet & sour chicken, Kristen's home made chicken pot pie, homemade turkey noodle soup. It's hopeless!
