I’ve gotten sadly behind once again. We’ve been busy, busy, busy with lots of fun around here. I’m not sure how organized this will be, but I will attempt a catch-up post.
I think I totally forgot to document our family reunion in Bryce Canyon with my Mom’s family. Brennan stayed home with Josh. Brennan HATES camping and I was determined to go without him, so he kindly offered to keep Josh. Anna had Youth Conference so I took Abby, Nate and Ben. It was kind of great to spend time with our 3 middle (middle=neglected, right?) kids. It worked out quite well, even though we missed them. Plus, we got our new old Suburban (we bought Ryan and Macy’s) which made the trip extra fun. Even with only 4 of us and a huge vehicle we BARELY fit all our stuff. The only ones who braved the trip from my Mom’s family was my parents who brought Rex and Lucy, Eliza and Josh and their kids and then me and mine. My Dad was just a little over a month out from knee replacement surgery!
I’ve decided that I’m not totally a camper. If you love to work really hard all day long and then not sleep at night, camping is for you. I am still glad we went though because the kids had a blast and I loved being with my aunts, uncles and cousins. The kids basically rode around the campground non-stop. Their sweet Uncle Josh, took them about 1,436 bike rides around the campground and nearby neighborhoods. They loved every minute. I loved every minute we got hanging out with everyone. We went on a spectacular hike. It was beautiful, but it almost killed me. It was hot! The kids did great, I was very proud of them. We left a day early due to poor Rex getting sick, my poor Dad not sleeping at all, and Eliza and me just ready to be home.
This is a great family, I love those people. My Mom and her siblings are some of the most fun, interesting, game people I know. They’re all completely different from each other, but so so great. Their kids are fantastic too.
Next up, here are a couple of pictures my Dad took of Joshy’s birthday that I love:
I posted a Festival Days, Part I post, and never got around to part II. I failed to take any pictures of part II so that’s a little sad, but it consisted of Anna and Nate running the 5k with their friends. They did great - ran it in about 27 minutes. They went running a couple of times to train and then just did it. Sheesh, to be young again, huh? Anyway, they loved it. They got a t-shirt and breakfast and were thrilled.
After the 5k was the parade. It was pretty crowded this year, but we still loved it. I can’t get enough of our Main St. It’s beautiful with it’s cute little old houses and huge trees lining each side. This year we went with Josh and Eliza and their kids and our friends, the Jensens. After the parade we hit the carnival for a little bit. Good times.
